Swimming 101

I totally scored on a Groupon for swim lessons.  2 lessons for the price of 1 at this really great swim place FINS.  Any 2 for 1 deals are a big hit in the Riley house (along with BOGO's and KIDS EAT FREE :-)

The boys go once a week to a parent/child class.  Dee Dee was in town for the first week so she went with me.  The swim facility is really nice and the boys love the fist hanging from the ceilings.  I will admit that the first week was a little rough.  There are too many pictures from these lessons because boy is it tough to keep your eyes/hands on both them near the water!

The first week, Eli clung to my neck like a little monkey for the first part of the class but eventually warmed up and did the lessons.  Beckett had a hard time and cried throughout the first lesson.  However, when we got home Dee Dee and I practiced a very important skill in the bathtub with them.. blowing bubbles! Yeah! A successful first lesson. Beckett can do it to but his video is too revealing of the goods :-)

Daddy and I took them back for the second lesson and I spent some one on one time with Mr. B in the water.. boy did that make a difference!  You would not believe him this past weekend over at the neighbors.  He was JUMPING in the water.  Seriously.. be on the lookout at all times because he is coming at you.  Loves it!  Doesn't mind going under, loves the slide, etc.  They both are great at kicking their legs. Eli has super upper body strength and can pull himself out of the water on the side of the pool which is a really great skill to have.  Here is a video from the weekend of their favorite water game.  They also love the neighbors slide.

They are having so much fun.. with the record heat, water is really the only way to cope.  We have a few more weeks of swim lessons left but will definitely enroll again next year.  I mean, who can resist this sweet little swimmer?  The best part of swimming, when they get all wrapped up in their towels and snuggly.

We LOVE SUMMER!
