Parks, Dinosaurs, Penguins, and Grandparents
Every year my sister goes to summer camp for two weeks so Dee Dee and Poppy come for a visit. This was an adventure filled, action packed super fun visit. Full of playing outside, swimming at the neighbors, eating out, parks, aquariums, dinosaurs, penguins, and so much more.
The boys love the park near our house. They recently added a "two passenger" car and they love to ride with you.
They spent lots of time playing outside with their water table, slide, and baby pool. Poppy and Dee Dee rigged it up so they could slide into the water. This has become a favorite activity.
The highlight trip was to Moody Gardens in Galveston. They boys set out early for a full day adventure. First stop the aquarium..
Then off to the penguins. By far the biggest hit. The penguin adventure actually brings in a real penguin and you can touch. The boys are crazy about their penguins. They have a penguin family that they love in the bathtub and they also came home with 2 tiny stuffed penguins. They have already taken them to school for show and tell. Eli has slept with his a couple of times too.
A physical challenge test in the discovery area of Moody Gardens made for good times.
The boys had just finished dinosaur week at their school so Poppy and Dee Dee took them to the Dinosaur exhibit. They were scared! Poppy said it was really cool and he would have loved to hang around and check them out but the boys said no way! You can tell when Eli is nervous.. he either pulls his right ear or puts his finger in his mouth .. he did plenty of both in the Dinosaurs and The Rainforest.
A 4D IMAX movie of Dora -
And to finish off the day.. a stop by Palm Gardens the water area of Moody Gardens.
What an adventure! They had the best time during the visit and we did too. We were spoiled with all the help, dinners out, and family time. The boys loved having all the special time with their grandparents. Hurry back Poppy and Dee Dee!
