32 years and 19 months
I had a birthday! And the boys turned 19 months. My birthday celebration really started the week before. Dee Dee kept the boys and Justin and I went on an overnight trip to Galveston. It was such a treat! They have done amazing rebuilding and we stayed at fantastic hotel, ate dinner or the pier watching the ships in the channel, slept in (a treat), visited the hotel's sister property on the beach and enjoyed the hot tub before returning to reality.
I was so spoiled this year! I fell in love with Dee Dee's Tassimo hot beverage machine which makes the most amazing tea lattes... and surprise! She gave me one of my one. Justin took it to the next level and got a fancy milk frother that makes delicious foam for the top. Yummo! Who needs Starbucks? I have my own personal barista :-) My lattes taste even better with my new Coach bag (thanks mom & dad) .. I love it!
We did some birthday shopping for new sunglasses (thanks Gamma & Big Poppa) and the boys had so much fun. They even came home with their own new sunglasses.
19 months? Can't believe it! This has been the biggest toddler change for us. The tubes have been a miracle for Beckett. His balance is better, he is almost running, standing up from the floor independently (HUGE), words words words, climbing, chasing, amazing! Eli has been adding words too! I guess that happens when you can finally hear out of both ears! Discovered a love for corn on the cob, started new class, started swim class, love our sand/water table, started sleeping on toddler pillows (pics to come.. they are adorable), and are doing great.
My birthday almost always falls during Memorial Day weekend and that is SO MUCH FUN! Never hard to find someone ready to celebrate with me :-) We loaded the boys up (new sunglasses and all) and headed next door to our neighbors for a backyard BBQ.
We walk through the back gate and see these signs..
And I say, "oh! Is someone having a birthday?" Duh! I didn't know they knew it was my birthday! We had a great day and surprisingly the boys finally got comfortable and loved the water. Of course, who wouldn't love the set up in the neighbors backyard.
Snack break!
After a long pool day, we ate yummy brisket (daddy's) and boston butt (Brad's) and then momma's banana pudding (with an already blown out puppy dog candle but its the thought that counts!)
This past year has taught me even more to appreciate each and every minute with my friends and family. To value each day, not knowing how much longer we have. Life is short, painfully so sometimes when we lose those that mean the most to us. I am grateful for my family, I am grateful for my friends, and I am grateful for my Lord & Savior that by His grace allows me to enjoy the blessings in my life.
Love,
