A Quick Stop By..
We spent the first night with Aunt Lauren and Uncle Preston (thanks for the late night ride :-) in Destin and didn't have much time there before heading to Justin's hometown. We did however; make time for a couple of quick favorite stops in the area.
The Donut Hole - is any visit really complete without a trip to this infamous place? Justin's favorite place to get a "diet plate". The boys favorite place to get donut holes!
We had to take a quick stop to put our toes in the beautiful white sand and feel the waves crash around our ankles. I wish we had more time to spend on the gorgeous beaches of 30a. After much debate and dilemma (and maybe a little argument or two) we ended up just making a quick stop on a secluded area residential area of north 30a. The boys loved the sand this time but not so much the crashing waves. Although I will sympathize with them that the water was cold! As I walked out on the beach, I instantly felt that I could breathe easier. I just closed my eyes, relaxing and breathing it in. (and wishing I could pop a Corona, grab a book, and sit awhile :-)
Unfortunately all good things come to an end and we had a tight schedule to get all the family visits in. Once we got back in the car, I looked at my little ones sweet sandy feet and thanked God for the simple things in life.
