First Haircuts
Yes. I cried. I didn't really want to do it. It is such a big boy milestone. We have been debating this for awhile. We LOVE Beckett's long hair but as he ate his lunch Sunday, he kept pushing his bangs out of his eyes. I decided it was time for a bang trim so we called Cool Cuts near our house. A really cute children's salon and make him an appointment for this afternoon.
When we got there and got checked in, we decided to shape up Eli's shaggy head too :-) The first and most important question? What movie? Elmo of course!!
Beckett's station was a red race car and he did great! Such a brave boy. He watched Elmo and was very patient with the sweet lady.
Eli did great at first but he got tired and was over it in about 3 minutes. She managed to finish without cutting his ear though!
Mom got a 1st Haircut Certificate with little clear envelopes with their first hair locks in it. Tears.. sniff sniff :-)
The boys had a blast playing with train the train table while waiting on each other and mom and dad to pay. (a small fortune I might add)
After the haircuts, we stopped at a new frozen yogurt place that opened near our house. Yummo!! We shared a cake batter yogurt with strawberries and graham crackers. Mmm.. no pics though. Too busy feeding 2 tiny birds yogurt!
One of our favorite places to eat "bugs" has a sand area for kids to play. Justin and I haven't really ever let them play because we have always been going somewhere but today we turned them loose. Eli was a little hesitant at first, he circled the edges and tested it out. Beckett dove right in and made a friend. Once Eli warmed up, he loved playing with the trucks. It was nice for us to sit outside and enjoy watching them play.
At one point, I was watching Eli and he had the biggest grin on his face. The sun was shining on his sweet dimple and he heard a song come on the speaker that he likes. He was bobbing his head back and forth and doing a little dance totally carefree and loving life. I couldn't help but have a moment where I just said thank you Lord for these sweet boys. What a blessing it is to share these happy joy filled days with them. I thank the Lord each and every night for letting me be their mommy.. and I ask him to slow it down a little too :-)
