16 months - Oh so fun!
So no pics to go with this. Just a little documenting for my records :-) And I am seriously not happy with myself over the lack of video over some of these cute moments. My video camera is not compatible with the Mac unless I jump through a TON of HOOPS which involves first using the old computer. So this has led to being totally lazy about actually creating the videos but I am making a promise to myself to get back on track. Whew. Ok.
In the last month we have added too many cute skills to go undocumented. Eli has really hit his stride as a dancer. Really. I need a video. Ok. This weekend. He has a slow dance and a fast dance depending on the music. Slow dance involves a sway from side to side with an arm dance.. picture him as a tree waving in the wind at the back of the school play. Fast dance.. get down low. Leg bend.. bottom drop. Get down get down. I am looking into buying him one of those toddler boombox things that I can download songs on. Totally missed one on my daily deal things.. but hopefully another will come up. Right now he is walking around strumming his Leapfrog guitar and getting down to Old McDonald's Farm (Uncle Bubba would be proud)
Beckett has added a new word too.. "bye bye". Eli goes and stands by the door and says bye bye when its time to go to school. Sweet Beckett looks at him from across the room.. waives and says "bye bye".. like "see you later dude!"
Eli has added words to his growing vocabulary. "whoa" is a big word for us right now. Apparently I say it a lot. and now my Eli does too. "diaper" and he signs it too. And he tells you when he needs one :-) He knows that when I get him out of bed in the morning its the first thing we do. He will look at me and say "diaper".. I guess that's the same as "good morning". He also loves to help me get Beckett up. He sticks his face right up to the slats in the crib. Beckett thinks this is way to funny. Giggles..plays peek a boo with him.
We usually watch Praise Baby for the end of the day while we drink our milk or maybe a Baby Einstein. Beckett points at things now all the time.. babbles none stop in what has to be huge long sentences that apparently Eli understands because he dies laughing. Beckett smiles at all the babies, waves back at everyone that waves at him.. and they both act like monkeys. Whether they see monkeys in books or on TV or we just talk about them. They both wave their arms up and down and see "ah ah ooh ooh" .. ok. Must have video of this too! Eli says "mmmm" anytime I open the oven and I am cooking something.. also when the big ear of corn with a huge pat of butter on it comes on Old MacDonald's farm. And especially when they get to eat "Moolineum crunch ice cream" with their dad.
We met with an ENT because we had more ear infections over the last couple of month. 4 since January :-( and looks like tubes for us. We are going to see a pediatric specialist in late March to get evaluated. More to come on that.
So back to cute stories. This morning I was in the nursery changing Beckett's diaper. And Eli was my "helper" .. while changing Beckett.. Eli is running around crazy saying "diaper diaper whoa whoa diaper diaper whoa whoa" and then he comes over and thinks its HILARIOUS to try and put his fingers in Beckett's nose while I was trying change the poopy diaper. Great. Then I say Eli.. can you get your shoes "Eli.. shoes. Where are your shoes? Can you help mommy find your shoes? " (totally trying to distract him at this point and usually this works) so now its "shoes whoa shoes whoa shoes" and he runs out of the nursery and then I hear him coming back "shoes whoa shoes whoa" .. I kid you not .. with my shoes for work. I laid them by the bedroom door and he finds them.. drags them back down the hall and brings them to me. And then tries to put them on my feet which Beckett thinks is HILARIOUS.. They are both laughing so hard at this point over Eli and my "shoes" that he trying to jam upside down on the wrong foot that they both are laying on the ground. Giggling hysterically. Yes.. by me who is now also laughing so hard I am crying. Ah.. sweet moments :-)
I can't believe how fast they change.. I mean all of the sudden words just pop out of their mouth and dancing starts and an INSANE amount of giggles invade the day. I love it.. I love it.. I love it. And I promise to do better about the videos. Because I will need them.. to remind me of all these things when they don't think its cool to hang out with mom anymore .. sigh.
