Grandparents, Trains, Elephants, and Fun
This weekend the Roberts came out for a quick visit... and brought with them lots of fun. We had a great weekend. The boys took just a minute to get warmed up and then they were ready to play.
We read and showed Dee Dee & Poppy all our books.
We LOVE the new mailbox and elephant toy. The mailbox is so much fun. They "check the mail" and put it in the box. How funny is it that as one puts the mail in the back, the other is pulling out the front. Beckett is so sweet.. he claps every time Eli gets the mail in the slot (even if Eli stole his mail to start with!).
At a consignment store in T'town, Dee Dee found this awesome stuffed rocking elephant. They both came straight home from school Monday and took turns riding. If they press his right here, he sings a funny song.. that is constantly stuck in my head!
Gracie brought her new puppy Emmie who is absolutely precious. But not Eli's friend. He cried if she even looked at him! He had a breakdown if she ran by him in the hallway. Beckett on the other hand, loved little Emmie..
We also celebrated Gracie's birthday. 12 years old!! We had an awesome time Saturday with a girls shopping trip to celebrate and we ate the coolest, most delicious cake. A little improvising.. no candles so we lit toothpicks! Hey.. it worked :-)
Dinner was fabulous at Taste of Texas and Aunt Jen and Uncle Rusty joined us. Gracie chose this steakhouse and even though we waited FOREVER.. the boys hung in there and did great. We found lots of picture spots to kill time .. so glad we had Aunt Jen to operate the camera :-)
I ordered the boys a train through a GREAT deal on the website Kidswoot .. one of those daily deal sights that I am .. as Gracie would say "obsessed" with! Seriously.. an awesome deal. This 55 piece train I paid $20. The boys love it.. Although demolition of the track is their favorite game.
Sunday was just one of those great family days. The weather was insanely gorgeous. We took a long walk, played outside, enjoyed the boys, ate a great dinner, and just enjoyed being together. Monday came way too fast and they headed home as we headed back to work. Can't wait for our next visit!!
