Valentine's Day Fun
This was Beckett and Eli's first year to have a Valentine's Day party at school and my first year as a mom to help! I love it..they give me an excuse to do so many fun things.
For their special Valentine's Day gifts to their friends, I made homemade "Kool Aid" playdough. I found the recipe online and it looked easy enough. The school only allows prepackaged treats and with allergies and things I knew I didn't want to do food. (Although Eli kept nibbling on the play dough and saying "mm..mm" Here are some pics from the playdough making...
The cards had a sweet note from Beckett and Eli and the ingredients for the playdough. I also did Lavender bath salts for the teachers "to enjoy a nice hot bath at the end of a long day".. (I did those for the girls at work too!)
Funny story about Valentine's Day shopping on Sunday. Justin and I split the boys up for some one on one time for errand running and last minute stuff. What a blessing! To give each child undivided attention was great for them.. and for us. Eli and I went to Petco and picked out some treats for Raleigh and Oyster, a little shopping at Carter's, and then headed to HEB (with the rest of Houston) to pick up Beckett a balloon. Dad went out for the same thing... and we ran into them at HEB. You should have seen Eli's face when he recognized Beckett and Daddy in the aisle. So sweet! Anyway, we decided that we would do balloons to each brother from each brother. Eli and I picked out the perfect one.. "Be Mine" it said with a bunch of bumble bees. I tied it to the cart and we made it to the car all good. Then we get home, I get him and the balloon out and we head inside. Once inside I notice that we are holding the string.. but the balloon was gone off the other end!! HEB.. not happy with you.. it came off the end they tied on. I was so proud of myself for not letting go.. I call Justin.. "VALENTINE's DAY EMERGENCY... need another balloon. Well, he and Beckett turn the car around and go back to the little stand in the parking lot for another balloon.. as they are getting back out of the car.. "oops!" There goes Eli's special balloon Beckett had picked out. So Justin goes in now for 2 more balloons. Debit card machine is down.. cash only. Only enough cash for 1 balloon.. so that is how they ended up sharing a Valentine's Day balloon! Oh well.. there is always next year.
I got the sweetest card from Justin (with spa gift certificate.. hmm.. how did he know?) and a card from each of my little tiny sweethearts. I gave Justin this very funny card.. Ha!
We also gave him an introductory flight lesson. He has always talked about it and I found this great place in North Houston that will do an hour flight where he can take controls and count towards pilot license. I am sure you will see lots of pictures of this to come!
The boys came home from school with the cutest bags.. such classic pictures of my little boys. Beckett all smiles.. Eli smirking :-) filled with all kinds of special Valentine's treats. His classmates sent some really cute stuff! There was lots of love that day.
Their teacher Ms. Laura gave them the cutest frogs.. Don't you just love this little guy? He lights up when you touch the bottom. The boys have LOVED playing with them the last couple of days.
I welcome any reason to shower my family with a little "extra love".. Hope you got lots of loving too!
