A very special Christmas Eve
After a fantastic day at home with the boys, Justin and I met our sweet friends The Galloway's at Houston First Baptist for the annual Christmas Eve candlelight service.
This will be one of the most memorable Christmas Eve's of my life. The boys were so sweet on the way.. singing and laughing. It is always hard to get the 8 of us together with the babies schedules, and babysitters, etc. To share this most special night in our Christian lives together was the best way to spend Christmas.
The sanctuary was gorgeous, lit with beautiful white lights, full choir, and a great atmosphere. The boys sat in amazing. Wide eyed, and clapping. They loved the music and did so good for the entire hour. At the very beginning, Curtis leaned over to me and said he and Leah had been talking about how many times the 4 of sat in thoses same seats in that same sanctuary praying for these babies. Begging, crying, excited, sad.. so many emotions through both of our journeys. And here we are in those seats with not 2 but 4 gorgeous, healthy, baby boys celebrating Christmas. I sat there (and cried of course) full of overwhelming gratitude for our Father. For His miracle son, for our miracle babies. As I held Justin's hand in prayer while holding our boys, I was so full of the Spirit and felt His presence so strong.
The hymns and Christmas songs were beautiful. One of the songs that we sang was an updated version of the classic Tell Me The Story - as I listened and sang the words.. I thought how true.
Tell me the story of Jesus,
Write on my heart every word;
Tell me the story most precious,
Sweetest that ever was heard.
Tell how the angels in chorus,
Sang as they welcomed His birth,
“Glory to God in the highest!
Peace and good tidings to earth.”
The sweetest story ever told. The most important. Write it on my heart and guard it there forever. Lord, write it on my children's heart that they may know the fullness of Your Love and Grace through Jesus Christ. Oh how the angels sing! They lit candles (we opted out this year) and by candlelight we sang Silent Night. It is a moving sight to see. The boys looked around in wonder and awe. I held them close, sang and looked at the room. Filled with such praise, holding my most precious little ones close, I think this is what Heaven is like.
I know I put a link to this in blog last year, but I came home and read it again to Justin as I love the meaning in it and I hope you do too.. The True Meaning of Christmas
Tomorrow is a big day. Santa will probably come by our house tonight .. my boys have been angels this year :-) Wishing you a wonderful Christmas too!
Love,
