9 Months Old
We have officially moved from being little infants to big baby boys. Gone are the smushy, helpless little beings they once were. Replaced now by moving, sitting, twisting, big personalities.
My firstborn Beckett at 9 months weighs 23 lbs & 14 ozs which is the 90th percentile. He is 29 1/4 inch long (75th percentile) and as always, the 97th percentile in head size. My second born Eli weighs 22 lbs and 4 ozs (75th percentile) and is 28 1/2 inches long which is just 50th percentile. He is 90th percentile in head size. They are not so round any more.. they are both starting to lengthen some. Both are wearing 18 months sizes right now. They are sleeping about 11 hours at night (unless teething!) and still take 2 naps a day. We eat 3 meals and drink 4 bottles throughout the day.
Eli is kinda "stringy" and tough. Hates kisses. Need to steal them from him. Beckett is soft and sweet and so cuddly. Loves kisses. In fact, he loves to kiss your nose. He opens up his mouth and slobbers all over your nose. Quite possibly one of the sweetest kisses I have ever had :-) Everywhere we go we get too comments.. those twins are SO BIG and SO TAN! Seriously, I use a lot of sunscreen they just have this skin that I am so envious of that justs tans so pretty.
Our favorite hobbies include swinging on the back porch, watching the puppy dogs each afternoon after my mom gets home from work and especially when Daddy is grilling. The sweetest night was when Eli kept trying to reach out and finally grabbed Beckett's hand. They were swinging holding hands (sniff sniff) .. ah.. melts your heart! Of course by the time I got the camera they had let go.
Food variety is increasing. We eat more regular food. Although we have had a choking incident that scared mom so we backed off a little. Love watermelon. Love strawberries although they give Eli a little tiny rash on his face if he eats too many. Love peaches. Still love yogurt. Like turkey. Don't like beef too much. Love Baby Yum-Yum crackers. Eli still hates anything green. Hates it. And when he decides he doesn't want to eat it, he screws up that little face and looks at you and you know he is "going to blow". Like cherries (and I love cherry stained lips) Love cheerios. Really like water (thank goodness) and drink it out of our big boy cups. Can even hold on and just sip when they want some in their car seats or stroller.

Eli has 2 teeth (tough to get a picure) and Beckett's 2nd tooth just popped through. Eli is cutting top teeth now but nothing has come through. We are still in our infant carriers. They go to 30 lbs so we are only concerned about the length of their legs right now. We will probably get another couple of months out of them.
We ride with our feet on the "dashboard" just like momma :-)
We love to take baths together. Eli holds court with either the toy rake or shovel in his hand and Beckett loves these squishy water balls that our friends gave him and he sucks the water out of them. Beckett squeals at the top of his lungs when you wash his ears and Eli is so busy the whole time "chasing" toys all around the bath tub.
We love to play bowling :-) and chase the pins around.
We like to dance and be silly in our bandanas and hats. Pants on the ground is one of our favorites. So is Hot Diggity Dog from Mickey Mouse.
Sometime during the last month I realized that I only take pictures when they are happy. I don't have many pictures of their fits. And boy does Beckett have that covered. He usually throws a fit about getting out of the bathtub and he HATES putting pajamas on. I grab my camera and decide to get a "real Beckett shot". Here is the tantrum face.
Then I start snapping the camera, and miraculously he stops crying.. and then starts smiling! What a ham. It works everytime. I will have thousands of pictures if this trick continues to work!
But we also love our Winnie the Pooh car that our Gamma and Big Poppa got us.
Too big for the bouncers :-( Dad let Eli turn his over and get his first goose egg.
Eli is very busy. Very very busy. Cords, plugs, dvd players, coffee tables, baskets, you name it, he is in it. During this past month we dropped Eli's bed.. yes... all the way to the bottom to keep him in and not diving over the edge. The funniest is when you think he is asleep and you rock Beckett. Guaranteed he will crawl down to the end of the bed, stand up, and party while you try to get Beckett down. This makes Beckett giggle hysterically and the process starts over again.
Beckett's hair is growing. The top is getting long enough for us to "style". We are going for a mohawk. The upside is, this is precious. The downside is.. Eli can grab it with both hands and try to stand up. This move is extremely unpopular with Beckett as you can imagine.
We are big. When we hold them on our shoulder, their little feet hang past our waist. Eli can hold his own bottle because his bed is dropped down so low however, he's not a fan of the paparrazi at 5:30 in the morning taking his picture!
Words. Sweet words and sounds. Beckett went through a E-I phase. He said it all the time. Beckett sings the sweetest sweetest "songs". Eli woke up one morning and said "Da-Da" and hasn't stopped. He also has Ba-Ba and something that sounds like De-dett. Last weekend when we were are the Cullens, he said ola, ola over and over. We thought maybe "Hola" like the nanny but after a day around the sweetest, tiniest, cutest, friend Zola we aren't so sure?
Favorite game - brother Peek a Boo! Lots of laughs guaranteed.
And as always, everyday they bless us more and more. There is nothing better than coming home from a long day off work to these smiles, laughs, and love. The other day I started thinking about their birthday approaching. I read back through my blog from the beginning and even though I have tried to savor and enjoy each moment of their babyhood, it sometimes feel like it is moving in fast forward! But that's okay because I have decided they are just going to live with their mom forever :-)

Of course, our jumperoos still hold a very special place in our hearts. Instant happiness. Can't believe we have gone from books under our toes so we could bounce to the very top level and pretty much over the weight limit.
But we also love our Winnie the Pooh car that our Gamma and Big Poppa got us.
