Memorial Day Weekend in Fred
We stayed at the cutest cutest "bed & breakfast" kinda place in Fredericksburg. It is called "Across the Way" and Ma & Dave had the front porch and we had the back porch. It was so great! It had a huge fenced in back yard with a swing, a back porch with chairs and jetted bath tubs.
After a relaxing morning inn on Sunday we headed out to a late breakfast at the Airport Diner. We almost didn't go because it had gotten so late but I am so glad we did! The diner is part of the Hangar hotel and is literally on the runway of the airport. While we ate breakfast.. which was fabulous by the way.. we watched the planes landing and taking off. People flew in just to eat breakfast. They had some old WWII planes and antiques so that was fun to look at as well.
With yummy full tummies, we headed to grab at spot at Luckenbach. I have about our first trip to Luckenbach about a year ago when we just stopped by for a minute. Justin has been so excited about going back when they actually have live music. On the way in, Dave almost got run over by a longhorn! That's not something that you see every day!
We found a shady spot, spread out our blanket and set up camp with the boys. It wasn't too long before the live music started. It was a gorgeous day and the boys loved sitting and listening to the band and hanging out with us and their great grandparents.
Eli LOVED the motorcyles! Everytime one would crank up (trust me it was a lot) he would raise up on his tippy toes and start looking. As soon as he saw it his head would follow as long as he could and then he would start listening for the next.
At the house we stayed in, there was the cutest little table and chairs. The boys were wearing their cute tennis shoes that Ma bought them ( a rare occasion that they wear shoes). Justin and I propped them up on the set (Ma was having a fit :-) and took their pictures. They turned out SO GOOD! Don't they look like little men hanging out. All they need is a cup of coffee :-)
Some of my favorite memories of the last years are traveling and spending my birthdays with my Ma. It meant so much to me that the boys go to spend a mini vacation with her. I know they love her and enjoyed her as much as I do. What a blessing to spend a beautiful birthday & holiday weekend with my boys and my Ma without really leaving home. I am looking forward to many more to come.
