Happy Birthday to Me :-)

I had a very special birthday with lots of special people to share it with.  Ma & Dave flew in from Bama on Friday and we loaded up early and headed over to Fredericksburg, Texas with our boys on Saturday morning to celebrate my birthday.  We were totally packed in the new car.  We have 3 rows of seats in our huge gas guzzler.  Justin & Dave piloted the front, Ma set in the 2nd row with a boy on each side, and I squished into a tiny hole in the 3rd seat surrounded by luggage, coolers, strollers, and pack and plays.  Wait.. did I mention we also had a cargo carrier full of luggage strapped to the top!!  Glad we only went for 3 days.  After what felt like the longest car ride EVER... we arrived in Fredericksburg at Wildseed Farms

We did a little seed shopping and then took a little snack break while we waited on our friends.

We met our dear friends Morgan, Walt, & Zola The Cullens there for a day of wildflowers, wineries, and fabulous dining.  Eli has gotten really good at swiping items off you. He snatched Morgan's sunglasses right up and next he went for the hat!

We took a walk around The Meadows where different wildflowers bloom throughout the year.  Before we left home, we rented a lense for our camera from a local Houston friend and member of our Sunday school class Photo Rental Source.  It took amazing pictures and such a great idea if you can't afford to buy the awesome lenses (like us :-)

After a quick lunch and a little boy nap, we headed out to our first winery of the day.  It's funny in Texas, you turn down a dirt road to go to a winery and there is corn planted on one side and grapes on the other!  We started off at Becker Vineyards with a wine tasting.  The day was so beautiful even if it was starting to get hot.  How about this for some Texas heat.. and its only early June!

There was live music outside and lots of benches.. we fed the boys, grabbed a glass (and a bottle) and found a great spot out by a little cabin where the "boys" could stretch out and enjoy the sunshine.  It was gorgeous!

We headed next to Grape Creek Vineyard where we set up "camp" for Ma to watch both boys and baby Zola while we had some "adult time".  So I am enjoying this and I grab my purse and go "prissing" across the patio laughing and bragging about my adult time and 2 baby bottles fall out of my purse and go rolling across.  Oh Well!  So much for looking young and cool on my birthday :-) At least I got some dancing in with my Dave.

We finished off this perfect day at an amazing restaurant, The Hilltop Cafe which has been featured in Southern Living, Travel Magazine, you name.  And I know why!  It was so good and a fun atmosphere too.  I would say that the berry cobbler to finish the day was the icing on the cake but really it was being blessed to spend such a special day with my boys, my man, my hubby, and our great friends.

I almost don't mind getting older with birthday's
 like this! .. almost :-)
