A Dee Dee Weekend
Last weekend my mom came to visit and keep the boys while we went to Jimmy Buffett. I was able to take a couple of days off so we had a nice long weekend together. Thursday morning we got up and took the boys to a restaurant we wanted to try. They had a great time getting out of the house and playing in the fountains. They sat on the edge and dipped their feet in.
After we ate, we walked around and shopped. We took the boys on their first trip to the toy store. (I think Dee Dee had more fun than they did :-) and Dee Dee treated them to a giraffe. They love it!
On Friday, our nanny kept the boys and we paid a special visit to another set of twins in our lives, the Galloway's. Bo and Dax are doing so well. They weigh about 8 lbs each and are growing and growing .. but not sleeping of course :-) Mom and Dad are doing great it was so good to see them.
Of course, mom and I can't get together without a little shopping! We stopped by Babies R Us and mom treated the boys to a new stroller. We came home grabbed the boys and took them to the big sale at Carter's of course. They got their first pair of sun glasses.. and yes! we had to buy the 2-6 year old size just to get them on their heads :-) the 12-14 months didn't stand a chance. Once we got home we put all the new goods to test and took a walk. Don't you think they look cool and relaxed for their walk?
Saturday we spent the day playing around the house and then the boys took their first trip to the grocery store because Aunt Jen & Rusty came for dinner that night.
On Sunday, Dee Dee headed home and in the afternoon we took the boys to their first birthday party for my co-worker's little boy. It was so hot! 95 degrees and bright sun but they did great. The first time on swings too. We tried several different ways of putting them in the swings but they loved it any way we did it.
The weekend was exactly what I needed to get away from all my work stress. Full of family, friends, time with my boys, relaxing, good food, and new experiences. The Lord has certainly blessed me and these boys with lots of people that love us and take good care of us. We are anticipating many family visits and vacations this summer as everyone starts taking turns to visit these sweet boys.
