A Father's Day First Baseball Game

A very special Father's Day indeed.  We took the boys to their first baseball game and to make it even more special, their Big Poppa got to go too!  3 generations of Riley boys going to the ballpark.  I can't even describe how special this moment was for all of us and I was so excited to be a part of it.

We went to the Astros/Rangers game.  The best part about Houston baseball is the fact that the baseball field, Minute Maid Park, is enclosed... and air conditioned!  We arrived at the game, found some seats, and the boys could not take it in fast enough.  I have to say that I had a moment.  We stood for the national anthem and I had Eli, I looked over and Big Poppa had Beckett, the singing was so beautiful and the boys had these wide eyes watching the huge American flag wave.  My eyes feeled with tears just overwhelmed with gratitude.  That we could enjoy a game on this Father's Day.  That we were blessed with these boys.. so many things I closed my eyes and silently thanked my Lord for.

The boys did so good.  We actually made it to the 7th inning.  They each took a little nap in the Baby Bjorn. We took turns walking around with them.  Eli was a huge flirt.  He smiled and laughed and flirted with every female in a 5 row radius.  I honestly can't how well they did.  As we were leaving, Big Poppa said it was the favorite game he ever watched :-)  Now that's a big compliment.
