8 months next week!
8 months.. sniff sniff. Really? This age is so much fun. They laugh, they play games, they smile, they hug, they have such cute little personalities.
I love the way Beckett will pat you & squeeze you when you hold him. I love the way he tries to "bite" your nose. He gets his face all scrunched up and mouths open wide and dives for your nose. I love how Beckett's hair is getting some length on the top. I love that I can nuzzle my face in the top of his hair and its so soft against my face. I love how much he loves his blanket. He likes it layed across his face and then he grabs it and rubs it against his face to go to sleep. I love how he rubs the top of his head and pulls his hair when he is really sleepy ( Justin's parents say that he did that too)
I love Eli's "jumping". On your leg, when you sit with him in your lap, standing up, doesn't matter. He's bouncing. I love the way he studies his hands. He lays there and turns them and examines them and touches his fingers together and marvels at the sight of them. I love the way sometimes I sneak in the nursery to check on them long after their asleep and he is curled up using his blankie bunny as a pillow and when he wakes up he is still holding on to it tight. I love that when you rock Beckett, Eli rolls on his tummy and scoots to the end of the bed and looks over the bumper to watch you. I love that his nickname is Skeeter - they love him. Poor guy has bites all over him.
I love the quiet moments at the end of the day. After the boys baths, Justin and I get them ready for bed together and give them their bottles in the nursery. The lights are down, the fan is blowing, and its so peaceful. Justin and I take turns saying the boys prayers with them and lay them down together. It makes all the craziness, the ups and downs, the issues, and stress of work & life fade away and refocus on the important things.
Eli has a new favorite game with Raleigh. Justin sits him on the couch and puts chips or crackers in his hand and then Raleigh eats out of his hand. This gets a HUGE laugh from Eli and Raleigh is so gentle and sweet with him (not like she eats out of our hands :-) Eli holds on to the back of her neck and pats her. You can tell when he gets really excited, he sticks his tongue out. Justin also puts their puff snacks between Beckett's toes and let's the puppies lick it out. The laughs are great!!
Beckett & Eli both love their new swing. In fact, I have ordered a second this week to make it easier to swing them together. When you are by yourself its hard to contain one and swing one so 2 swinging together is better than one right?? They make the sweetest laughs and chuckles when they swing and they love when you run toward them like you are going to "get" them. They squeal! They also squeal when the dogs run under them or daddy stops the swing and then lets them go. Eli likes to help swing Beckett. It has been a great addition to our back porch.
We are still working on the finger foods. Beckett does a great job. He will hold it in his hand and eat. He had a passion for sweet potato fries (I mean.. who doesn't??) and he has done really good with his teething biscuits and steamed carrots. Eli not so much! He likes sweet potato fries when you hold it for him. He has no interest in putting food in his mouth. Don't you just love his carrot cigar??
When Poppy was here, he started a great new "bad" habit at the dinner table. Drinking Poppy's water from his glass.. He could not get enough!!
Beckett is starting to look more and more like his dad especially when he sleeps. He has the same "popeye" arms as Justin and he is getting so brown this summer despite layers and layers of sunscreen. Justin sleeps exactly like this.
We have also graduated to the sit up tub ring. The boys love it! I am actually going to get a 2nd because it will make it easier for us to bath them together. They love to play with the little toys on the front of it and keeps me from stressing out that they are going to fall over.

Eli actually will play peek a boo with you. He lays on his back on his play gym and then he will roll on his stomach and look over at you and you say Pee Pi (sp?) and he laughs and laughs and then lays back down. Here is a pic of him looking over the edge playing.
I pray for my little guys everyday. That the Lord will continue to protect them and keep them healthy. That he will move in their hearts and grow a love for Him there. I pray that He will keep me focused on enjoying and appreciating each day as the blessing and miracle that it is.

Eli is almost crawling seriously. He gets up on his hands and knees and rocks and rocks. He can kinda go backwards. It frustrates him to no end that he is working so so hard and getting nowhere. He can get pretty much anywhere he wants to go by rolling. His favorite place to roll is up to the entertainment system. He then turns so that his foot hits the DVD player and pops open the DVD. Nice.. not a good habit. We have to really watch him. He likes to roll up under the jumparoo while Beckett is jumping! He will put his feet up on the bottom so it won't jump anymore and Beckett starts his squealing! High pitched, ear piercing squealing. He also does this when Eli grabs his ear, nose, hand, etc. He also does this when Eli steals his blanket, bear, toy, etc.

And of course.. we are all still about our jumparoos.
