Hubby's First Father's Day Weekend
We had such a big week! My family came to visit and we had an awesome time. As the Robert's headed back to Alabama the Riley's arrived for a visit. The boys had so much fun with all their grandparents.
On Saturday morning, I got early and fed the boys with their Gamma. I dressed them in their special Father's Day weekend shirts I bought "Like Father Like Son". Once they had a little nap and Daddy woke up we did our Father's Day Surprise. The boys held their daddy's card which had the first of many clues to a scavenger hunt to find the gift.
Each clue had a rhyme on it from the boys. He found a starter in the bathroom, hardwood charcoal in the cooler in the garage, and finally the new smoker in the back of the car.
He loved it and immediately put it together and wanted to use it (that was kinda the plan). After a quick trip to Costco and the grocery store, we fired it up and put on the baby back ribs.
The turned out amazing! The cooked about 4 hours and he spritzed them with apple juice while they cooked. He used a rub that we picked up when we went to the Salt Lick. Made for a yummy weekend meal for sure. I know there is lots of good smoked bbq in our future.
While we spent the day at home, the boys showed off the results of their weekly exercises. The grandparents were very good about the exercises this week and guess what?? After one week of exercises we are SITTING UP on our own. Momma is so proud. They were such big boys exercising and getting strong. We still put pillows around them for the occasional tip over which usually happens when they sneeze!
It was a super hot day, so I filled up the baby pool for some splashing fun. It's so nice and easy to just enjoy the water without having to pack a bunch of stuff and go to the pool. Perfect afternoon!

We spent the day with surprises, great food, family, and some sunshine. I say that's a success :-)
