Day Two of the Move

We woke up in Jackson, loaded everyone up, and headed to Louisiana. Yes, we passed the Kentwood, LA exit.. home of Brittany Spears and I begged Justin to get off the interstate and could we please go try and find Lynn Spears house. But no luck, guess I will have to be a celebrity stalker another time. We stopped in Lafayette, LA for some famous crawfish cajun cooking. December starts crawfish season so we were in luck. I googled until I found a great sounding restaurant called Prejean's. It did not let us down. When you walk in there is a 14 ft alligator named Big Al right in front of the doorway. After much debate, we decided on the gold medal winning crawfish etoufee which came with crawfish pie (first time to try that) and rice. I went for Crabcakes Covington. A crabcake covered in a Louisiana crawfish sauce with a fried eggplant and okra salad. We finished off this delicousness with bread pudding with Jack Daniels sauce. Yummy Yummy. And guess what, Justin wanted me to drive when we left. Nap time? So I drove us to the Texas state line. And yes. We are the dorks on the side of the interstate taking our picture with the sign. With our dogs. Welcome to Texas!!
