Pumpkin Patch & Oktoberfest
On Saturday we took the boys for our annual pumpkin patch trip. Instead of the crazy "walt disney world" pumpkin patch we went to last year, we opted for a small local patch near our house. Our friends the Padilla's came with us and the boys were so excited to see their friends "x" and "max" again this weekend.
One thing about Texas pumpkin patches.. they are hot and crowded. This one was no exception. After an initial rough start from Beckett the boys had a great time. We took a hayride, Eli & Xavier played in the bounce house, we took pumpkin pictures, and ate turkey legs. We did not, however ride the train. In seriously almost 90 degree heat, the line was so long, we waited and waited and then even the big kids gave up. We will remember to hit the train first next year!
After the pumpkin patch we headed north to visit with the Padilla's. After naps, a break, a cool down, some cold treats, and playing with trains, we were recharged and ready to go again. We went to Oktoberfest which is a beer and wine festival in The Woodlands. It was a gorgeous (but hot) afternoon and we pushed the boys around. We grabbed a great spot in front of the band and the boys ran wild while we enjoyed each other and constantly chased a baby! It was a great afternoon.
After the festival we headed down The Woodland's Waterway for some pizza. An eventful stroll that ended up with the boys fishing items out of the water way that went "overboard" from the strollers!
Outside on the plaza they had a super fun splash park. We debated being those parents that made their kids stay dry for dinner.. but then we decided.. what the heck. It's been such a long hot day, might as well get soaking wet and have a blast. The water had Disney tunes playing and was lit like neon when we came back outside. They had so much fun!!
Pizza was great. The first place I have ever been too that brings raw dough for the kids to play with while we wait. That was such a relief because at this point they were both ready to crash!
After a quick dinner and fun stroll back we changed the boys and they were OUT on the way home. It was a perfect way to celebrate fall and friends.
