2 until 2

2 months until 2 years!!  Really??  Ok so I wasn't going to post any "baby" updates until 2 but the are changing and growing so fast I don't want to lose the memories of their "funnies".

Let's start with what we have been up too.  In fact what is really up is the heat here in Houston.  We are having RECORD heat.  Right now we are at almost days in a row of triple digit heat.  Excited that it is only forecasted to be 98 on Friday!  We have broken every previous heat record.  And we have had no rain.  What's crazy is that my kids don't really even know what rain is!  We were home last weekend and there was a summer shower.  We ran in and they got wet.  They were both say "water mommy"  "hair wet" and we had  sunroof in the back of the car and the water was falling on it and they were freaking!  We finally had a Texas thunderstorm last night and they were terrified.  Really probably the first time since they could walk, talk, and communicate that we have had thunder and rain. Eli said "rain mommy scared". He got lots of hugs!

We had a milestone.  Our first Happy Meal!  Justin and I have prided ourselves and said they would not eat McDonald's until they are grown.  But after the airport on Sunday the McDonald's was the only thing convenient and we said, why not?  Um.. they loved their McNuggest Happy Meals.  They each got their nuggets and fries to eat in their car seats (a first) and then toys.  They both kept saying "happy happy" .. guess thats why they call them Happy Meals!

Recently our pantry door child lock was broken. This gave 2 tiny little boys open access to the pantry.  Well Eli serves himself a variety of "cackers", and "tips" and sometimes crazy stuff like uncooked pasta noodles!  I can always tell when they have been in there by their trail.

I walk into the bedroom and Eli is laying on my bed, watching tv, and eating crackers that he helped himself too.

He's very neat and orderly.  He shops, takes his selection, eats some and puts it back!

Beckett is getting so good at his colors.  You can ask him "Beckett what color is the grass?  And he will say "geen" and "Beckett, what color is the sky? and he will say "boo".  He LOVES to sing.  Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Itsy Bitsy Spider and of course ABCB.  While he plays, he just sings to himself in the sweetest tiny boy voice.

We had an incident report from school today.  Eli tried to "help" Beckett put his work away and Beckett bit him.  At least we don't bite other children.  Just "brudda"

Eli is quite the card.  If he does something that makes you laugh he says "Eli funny"  or "funny Mommy" And LOVES to wear his shades.

Beckett likes to shake his head and make silly noises.. here is a short clip.

We are really into marching and hopping.  Everywhere.  We can thank the Barney movie for this. We watch it everyday and we love to march and hop.

And play the drums.. here we are in the car jamming out with daddy to Pearl Jam.

And we still love our baths.  And bubbles.  However, getting both to look at the camera at the same time has become quite difficult.

And it looks like we found a new church home.  We have prayed diligently about this over the past year.  As the boys have gotten older we have really been seeking a church home closer to where we live.  We LOVE Houston's First and miss our pastor there.  I experienced so much growth under his leadership and its made it challenging to find a new church.  However after trying many different churches, a coworker recommended Faithbridge and it we loved it.  I prayed that God would send us and guide us to where he most could use us, speak to us, and the boys would have a place to grow and learn.  We fill like Faithbridge was his answer and all in His timing.  We are attending a small group starting next weekend and pray that it will work for us and we will find ourselves right where we belong.  Here are a couple of pics of the boys running on the lawn after church.  After they played in the castle and with the choo choo train tables.  They waved at everyone when we left and said "bye bye castle" "bye bye toys"

No Sunday is complete without a good ole Sunday lunch.  There is a family buffet right down the street. Kids eat free.  Eli & Beckett took advantage.

Today marks 22 months!  What fun almost 2 year olds really are!  They are so full of laughter and joy.  Through their eyes I see so much wonder and amazement of God's creation and the simple things on a daily basis.. Countdown to 2!
