Ladybugs, Rock Stars and Afternoon Mud Bugs

Last weekend the boys attended their first friends birthday parties.. for 3 kids all born on the same day!  A friend of mine from work and the twins were all turning 1 and we were blessed to be part of both of their parties.

Our first party was for the "little bug" Addison. Such a cute party.  Everything had a ladybug theme.. Beckett & Eli weren't too concerned with the party because they have an awesome playroom.  Addison has an older brother who is 4 and he had lots of cool big boy toys. The boys had a blast and did great playing with all the other kids (there were a so many!).  After some playing, cupcakes, and jumping we headed out for party #2. As we left, they received such cute favor bags.  Inside they each received a small book about bugs and a bug finding magnifying glass shaped like a lady bug.  Cutie stuff!

A quick drive across town (and a small snooze for Eli) and we arrived at the Galloway birthday party.  Rockstar themed.  Cutest rock star invitations you have ever seen.  Yummy cupcakes and delicious guitar shaped cookies.  Lots more adults at this party.. fun for mom and dad too!  Eli had a great time playing with the big kids by the fish pond.  And they both loved that the main dish was Chik Fil A chicken nuggets.  But their favorite part was the favor bags filled with rock star sunglasses, guitar shaped crayons, and mini tootsie pops.  This was their first experience with eating suckers.. and boy did they enjoy it.  Heading home from the party they were all smiles in the back seat.. sticky, crusty, and totally happy!

On Sunday, we had a family lunch and sat outside at a local restaurant to enjoy the start of "bug season" here in Houston.  Crawfish!  We had a great time and the boys threw down on fried pickles and catfish while dad feasted on his boiled plate with crawfish, shrimp, potatoes, and corn.   The boys had a really good time with the bugs.  Beckett was too funny.. sneaking his little hand over on Justin's tray, picking it up, and then getting scared when it looked at him and would drop it and laugh.  After a few minutes, his hand would start inching over.  Eli was in such a great mood.  He was chair dancing to every song that came on and entertaining our table neighbors.  He danced with his mudbug too and then pushed it around the table like a car.. making the appropriate noises.

We had a great weekend celebrating friends and spending time as a family.  These moments are precious.. enjoy them all!
