My Favorite Moments

Even though the vacation was packed with fun from top to bottom, I still have my favorite moments.

Outdoor showers - at the top of the list.  Beckett was not a fan.  I was hoping the neighbors wouldn't call child services with the fit he would throw.  Eli loved playing in the water.  It was so nice that it had warm water and each day when we got done swimming, we took our showers outside.  Loved it!

Look at all these babies!  Here was one step in the process of getting them ready for the beach. Sunscreen, swim diapers, swimsuits, shirts, hats, whew.  A work out!

Can I just say how cute my Ma & our sweet friend Phyllis are?  They drove the convertable to the beach access to see the boys and were having just the best time!

One afternoon, the boys took the boat and went out together to Aunt Lauren and I stayed in with Beckett & Eli.  We did some swimming in the pool together - look how cute Aunt Lauren is with her nephews on the way back from the pool.

After that we got brave and decided to go to Seaside to drink wine & eat sushi!  We walked around a little bit and took some pictures.  The evening was gorgeous!  The temperature was perfect, the sun was setting, we found 1/2 price glass of wine specials, we sat outside in the breeze.. relaxing right?  Ha!  I didn't add 10 month old twin boys to the scene.  All was well and we decided to try and set the timer and take a picture.. well Eli had his eyes set on my beautiful glass of wine.  Sticky fingers grabbed it and knocked it over!  So anyway, had to get a new glass so mine was full price :-)  After we got them settled back in, we pretty much finished as quickly as possible and headed back home!

When we got back, I had the best moment of the trip. JB was playing his guitar on the porch.  I sat in a rocking chair, breeze blowing, rocking both of my babies, listening to my brother and his gorgeous voice.  One of those God given moments where all is right in the world.  Melted my heart.  They love to hear their Uncle Bubba play.. doesn't everyone?

On our last day at the beach, we took the boys to The Donut Hole.  It is always a stop on our beach trips and it was a hit with the boys too.  I was of course nervous taking them to a restaurant because you just never know how its going to go.  But they were precious!  And hungry.  Seriously hungry.  But then again, the Donut Hole is just that good.  They ate donut holes (of course) a child's pancake order, 2 pieces of country ham, some of Justin's hashbrown and 1/2 of a biscuit!

When we went to put Beckett in the car, he grabbed his tummy and groaned!  They fell immediately asleep and since it was such a gorgeous day, we rolled down the windows and drove down 30A letting them get a good nap and enjoying the beauty of a day on the coast. Here are some postcard perfect pictures of Alys Beach.

Seaside to me is the ultimate dream of a beach vacation spot.  And I know it is to the thousands of visitors from all over the US that travel there every summer.  Little shops, quaint homes in the perfect coastal style all painted in beach pastels.  Love the airstreams around the square too!  We met up with my brother, did some shopping, stopped by "Bud's house", and ate lunch at the Great Southern Cafe.  The boys devoured a vegetable plate which contained the best cheese grits I have ever eaten.  Glad they let me have a bite :-)

After lunch, we enjoyed a chocolate covered key lime pie on a stick.. have I died and gone to beach heaven?? Yes!
