CasaCullen BBQ

We traveled this weekend to attend what we hope to be an annual tradition .. The CasaCullen BBQ.  We love our friends the Cullens at CasaCullen and if you don't read their blog, you should!  It's one of my absolute favorites. We were thrilled to get an invite to their BBQ celebrating their 1st year in Austin.

We loaded up the boys & the stuff Saturday morning (a 3 hours process) and headed to Austin.  The boys did great one the way.  A quick stop in Brenham for a bottle and some napping a long the way.  As soon as we got their, the boys were looking for Zola!  She is their favorite best puppy friend.  She is a sneaky little thing, she loves to kiss their faces.. I mean really?  Can you blame her??  She darts in and out turning circles, goes in for the kiss and then runs off.  I have a feeling it won't be long and there will be some running after her too!

Mom have you seen Zola???

Our appetizers are great!

After some fun playtime with the Cullens, the boys went down for the nap and I got busy on my contribution to the party, an appetizer.  I tried out a new recipe.  Sundried tomato, pistachio crusted goat cheese and basil on a mini skewer. Turned out fabulous I must say!

And what BBQ party is complete without soaking in the pool?  The boys and Zola enjoyed the cool water on a hot Texas afternoon.

Which way to the pool guys?

After getting the boys ready for the party, Beckett showed off his dance moves while waiting on the guest to arrive.

We had a blast!  We met so many interesting people, the boys loved the party, the feast was INCREDIBLE, and it was a perfect BBQ evening.

Just some of the appetizer spread..

Of course we stayed up way too late and of course the boys got up way too early the next day but it was worth it.  We are blessed to have friends here in Texas that are more like family and we can't wait for next year... I'm already planning my food :-)
