Staying "Cool" in the Texas Heat
Its seriously hot here. This morning at 9:00am my Ma asked me how hot it is here and the temperature was 91 degrees. 91 degrees at 9:00am!! (at least I am not hugely pregant though this year :-)
The best and only way to stay cool in Texas is in the water. And boy do the Riley boys love the water!!! We took them for their very first pool day at The Galloways a couple of weeks ago. I bought them little floats with canopies. We took them over to the Galloway's in the box. I took them out and got Justin to blow them up. Of course I bought the cheapest ones they had. I had to buy two! The really nice ones were 29.99 .. that's $60 bucks. So I bought the 17.99 and probably made a mistake. As Justin was blowing it up, one already had a hole. Well, we couldn't not use it since brothers worked just find. So like any redneck mom would do, I borrowed Curtis's duct tape and patched it right up. Later I found the real patches in the bottom of the box.. oops. Anyway, once we got the floats going we were ready for the water. They loved it!! The Galloways have the nicest pool, it has rocks and waterfalls. Eli kept kicking and getting away by himself and would end up by the water falls.

Swimming is very hard work though and both boys usually pass out cold after a little while for a nap. Here is Beckett catching a snooze on the Galloways cushion.
The next day we went to visit our friends Dan & Kat at their new house. Even though their pool wasn't quite ready for swimming, we had a great time splashing around.
I am so glad that they love the water. Justin and I both did growing up so we have lots of pool & beach in our future I know!!
