The Rodeo's Back
We had such a huge weekend its going to take me several post to share all my photos and memories! This weekend the boys were dedicated and for the occasion, we had family come in town. It also happened to be The World Championship BBQ cookoff again kicking off the Annual Houston Livestock Rodeo.

Gracie was not a fan of the whole hogs they had roasting out front! She said she might not eat BBQ again! (But she couldn't resist later :-)
Then it was time for some BBQ! Justin's tent was called The Cut Above. The day was gorgeous and sunny and we had a great spot to ourselves out in the grass. We all loved our Championship BBQ. Beckett & Eli liked their lunch too :-) Ma, Dave, & Phyllis arrived from the airport and joined us for a great BBQ lunch.

After lunch, it was time to walk off some of that good eating. We took our time looking at tents. The great thing about the cook off is all the tents have people outside laughing, playing music, giving away items. It is a great atmosphere. The boys got some fuzzy dice when we passed one tent. We took a stop by the Alamo.. and didn't dare take the entrance exam to one tent!

After finding a bench, Ma & Justin's mom stayed behind to feed the boys while most of us took a ride in the ferris wheel. Dad rode the roller coaster with Jesse. And no trip to the carnival is complete without finishing the day with ice cream. Justin kept dropping some on little Beckett's head!

What a day! I think the picture of Gracie that I took on the car ride home shows how we were all feeling by the afternoon. It was a special day for all our family to spend together.
Rodeo day was a success!
The BBQ Cookoff starts on Thursday and goes through the weekend. There is a carnival and lots of fun stuff going on. The actual BBQ Competitor tents are all private parties that you have to get invited too and get tickets. Justin got hooked up with one my coworkers to volunteer to work in one of the tents and was able to get us all Saturday tickets. Saturday morning Justin's parents, my parents, Gracie, Jesse, Justin, me, and the boys all headed out for a day of Texas fun.
We arrived before the carnival rides opened so we walked around taking in the sites. We walked by the tent Justin and I had gone to the night before and showed off the Holy Cow Cookers. It was a great party. They had a huge tent and actually won an award for their tent.
