A Bama Win & A Colt Victory
What a year to be Bama fans living in Texas! For the BCS National Championship game, our nearest and dearest friends, The Galloway's hosted a party in their house divided. Curtis went to Bama and Leah is from Austin and is a huge Horns fan. Of course, the boys had to be in attendance. I was not going to watch the game without my little good luck charms. Funny story about the lucky outfits. The lucky Alabama gowns were given to them at their first shower, and they are Preemie sizes. They fit great for their first game at 5 lbs. Weighing in now at 11 lbs, not so much. Well, you can take the boys out of Bama but you can't take Bama out of the boys. In true Alabama fashion, I cut the sleeves out to get them on them! (This caused much hysterics from my husband who begged me to let him cut his sleeves out of his Saban Nation T-shirt.. uh. No). To finish off the ultimate game day attire, they wore their Real Tree Camo boots Dave gave them as a gift. It may not have been pretty but it worked. The lucky blankets, gowns, bibs, and burp clothes all made it to The Galloway's. Next year's lucky attire will have to bought strategically larger for the beginning of the season :-)
The Galloway's received the awesome house divided flag for Christmas showing
Texas and Alabama. The food was amazing. A great way to celebrate the National Championship game. Unfortunately, when Colt McCoy was hurt, the other Horn fans in attendance decided that it wasn't a game anymore and couldn't take it. They all left at half time. The rest of us finished the game and cheered on a Tide Victory!!! It wasn't a pretty game, but it was a win. And the boys got their first National Championship!!!
My favorite moment of the game though came in Colt McCoy's post game interview. I am sure that most people have already seen it but I posted it here anyway. What an amazing witness. I teared up, I looked at Leah and she was teared up. An emotional moment for this young man and his team. To think about this year and how we have seen faith displayed by Tebow, Mark Ingram, and Colt McCoy. What wonderful role models! To hear Colt on National television in front of millions of people say,
" I always give God the Glory, I never question why things happen the way they do. God is in control of my life and I know if nothing else, I am standing on the Rock".
Well said my brother Colt, well said.
Love,
