The boys are 2 months old
The boys were 2 months old on December 29th. The last 2 months have been such an adjustment and learning period for us as parents. All my moms of multiples book say the first 6 months are the hardest and I think that is probably the same even for parents of singletons. The boys are changing so fast. They are finally seeming like "real" babies. We are getting smiles and laughs. We are finally enjoying bath time. They don't seem quite as fragile as they first did. Both boys are learning to hold their heads up and pushing up during tummy time. The coos are probably the 2nd best sound I have ever heard (behind hearing them cry when they were first born). They respond to us talking to them with noises. Seems like we hear new ones every day. We have worked hard on getting them on "schedule" and recently ironed out the one that works best for us. We start the day with feeding at 6am and then every three hours. The boys get a bath after the 6pm and them bedtime is 9pm. They started sleeping Christmas day night 5 hours for the first time! Until 2am and then they make it to 6am. They go back down at 6am and then up for the day at 9am. I know I know... most everything and everybody with twins or babies holds to the early bedtime schedule but I don't get home from work until 6 or 6:30 so I just can't stand them being asleep when I leave and asleep when I get home. So we are training ours to be night owls :-)
Beckett is still a sweet lankly little man. He is more fussy now than is brothe
r but he is really loving. Loves to cuddle and hug - actually puts his arms around you and grabs onto your shirt with his little hands. He is starting to like his bath more. His favorite thing to do is get his paci, get a super fuzzy soft blanket in his swing, wrap up in a cocoon and swing away. That is instant sleep for my buddy. In fact, he has slept like that every night until last week when we decided we had to get him in his crib like his brother. He has his own personal schedule that we are trying to work on. In a perfect world for Beckett he gets up at 2am and stays awake until 3pm feeding and goes to sleep. We are getting him to stretch to about 5 now without getting too fussy but he is my early bird for sure.
We go back to the pedi on January 14th for our checkup and shots. Can't wait to get "official" measurements and see how much they have grown. We are loving these little boys!
