33 Weeks - Babies and Projects

We are doing great! We went to the specialist today and got a good report. We had been praying extra hard for Baby B as he was falling behind and I was worried about him. He is still going to be my "small twin" but he is holding his own. Baby A weighed in at 4 lbs and 10 ozs & Baby B weighed in at 4 lbs and 2 ozs. Almost 9 lbs of baby in there. And I feel every pound I think. Both babies are vertex with heads down. There little heads were pressed together but faces were turned where we couldn't get any good pictures. My stomach has gotten really hard and lumpy. What I thought was a head that keeps poking out under my right rib is actually a butt! I keep rubbing it and pushing on it to try and get some relief on that side but I always have a big bump on the top right side. Everything else that they could see checked out great. There are such a tangle of arms and legs that it was hard to see any features. Excellent Report Card!

I have been keeping busy. Someone asked me this weekend if I was bored yet.. Absolutely not! I scrap booked all the ultrasound pictures that we have and I worked on the baby book. I am also loving having time to cook and bake. I remember now that before I was pregnant and exhausted, I loved cooking and trying new recipes and famous family ones too. In the fall each year, I always made pumpkin bread and homemade apple butter. I did get the pumpkin bread made but I cheated and bought HEB Texas "homemade apple butter".

I finally am having cravings again! I had a few in the first trimester but the high protein eat every 90 minutes plan had left me with no cravings. But they are back! I love plums and canteloupe. I ate 2 whole canteloupe and 5 plums in one day last week :-) Pizza craving from 1st trimester has returned. So the freezer is stocked with mini frozen pizzas. I also have the craving for Southern "home cooking". Which doesn't taste as good if you have to cook it yourself. Justin has been on the hunt for a Southern cooking restaurant but we haven't found any or the ones we do fall sadly short. Sunday we were on the way home from church and Justin remembered a place that he heard about from our friend Andy called Mel's Country Kitchen. Its in Tomball, Tx which is north of where we live. We decided to give it a try.. is it really Sunday without that good meal? I think we found a winner! It's no Sister's (which remains my alltime favorite Sunday lunch.. yummy dressing) but it works. I had chicken and dumplins and fried okra. Justin had a mixed plate and ended up stumbling on some great fried catfish. And to top it off, they had homemade blackberry cobbler.. hot with vanilla ice cream. Ok.. now I have made myself hungry!
Back to the doctor next Wednesday for an ultrasound to check on the babies growth and make sure everyone is coming along as planned. We are just so grateful and excited that we have made it this long and they are both doing great.
