26 week update
We had two appointments last week, one with my obgyn and one with the specialist. We received great reports at both! I passed my glucose test which was a huge relief. Multiples increases your risk of gestational diabetes so I had prepared myself for the fact that I may not pass. I was a little anemic which is normal even in singletons so I started iron supplements.
I had a really hard visit to the specialist. The ultrasounds are very in depth which leaves me laying down for quite a while. After we finished the first baby, I started feeling really hot, clammy, and dizzy. They told me to roll on my side. I drank some whatever and we continued. Then I thought I was going to pass out. So they sat me up and were fanning me. It was really scary. I just knew I was going to faint. All of the sudden I jumped up and fortunately there was a trash can right in front of the chair and thank goodness the ultrasound tech jumped out of the
way, because I lost my breakfast. Who knows? Anyway, after that I was okay. I felt fine and we did the rest of the ultrasound sitting up just in case.
The baby report was awesome. Baby A is weighing 1 lb and 14 oz and Baby B is weighing 2 lbs and 1 oz. So right at 4 lbs of baby. My uterus is measuring about the size of someone 32 weeks along. All my symptoms are in fast forward it seems like. My cervix actually had gotten longer at measured 3.85. Which is great since it is measured on a scale of 0 (being completely effaced) and 4 being the longest. I love when they switch it to 4d to give me pictures... We usually see Baby A's face really well (he has the Roberts nose for sure) but Baby B always has his little hand up. We are holding steady in there. I am feeling pretty good too. Super uncomfortable but that is too be expected.
Baby Preparation
We ordered the cribs this weekend so can't wait for those to arrive in about 2 weeks. We have had a hard time with the diaper bag selection. We need a large bag to carry double the stuff but we want one that we can both carry. We decided on a messenger and we ordered one but when it came in, Justin decided it was too plain. So he has ordered another one and we can decide between the two. I packed my hospital bag. I have everything on the list for me and the babies as well. We have a come home outfit in preemie and regular newborn. I hope that we can bring them into this world at 5 lbs each but its going to be tough. We are prepared either way :-) Our Sunday School class is giving us a shower next weekend which my mom is flying out for. So exciting! And then after that we will start the process of purchasing all the other items that we need to get ready for the arrival of the boys.
We are getting really excited. I love love love to feel them kick and move. It doesn't seem like they ever really move at the same time. Baby A is way more active and I kept giggling in church Sunday because my stomach was jumping on the left side. Everytime I looked down at my Bible I could see it moving. Justin has finally gotten to feel some really good kicks. I can't imagine what it will feel and look like over the next few weeks as space gets more cramped in there.
