Heavy Hitting Concert Weekend
Last weekend was a great music weekend for the Riley family. For Valentine's Day, I gave Justin tickets to Fleetwood Mac and he gave me tickets to Dave Matthews. The same weekend. Dave came to The Woodlands on Friday night, and we went to the Toyota Center in downtown Houston for Fleetwood on Saturday night. As we got closer to the
Dave concert, I got more and more nervous about going. We had lawn tickets and I am familiar with the craziness that goes on in a lawn and was worried about standing the whole time or maybe getting run over by crazy dancers if I tried to sit down. Not to mention it was hot and muggy. So the day before, I backed out. But don't worry, Justin had enough fun for both of us! Our friends all went in together and got a party bus with a driver and took the rowdy crowd out to The Woodlands. They had a great time as I could tell when I went to pick him up later that night. Justin enjoyed his first Dave show and I will hold him to the raincheck he promised me. At least he was sweet and got me a shirt!
Saturday night we headed out for Fleetwood Mac at the Toyota Center. I was not worried about this venue because it is so nice and clean and air conditioned. And we had seats. So high that I was nervous to look over the edge! Fortunately, our friends rescued us. They had bottom level seats close enough to the stage that I could see the sweat dripping off Lindsey Buckingham and behind them were empty seats. A little sneaky pass back ticket action and we were in. Fleetwood Mac put on a great show. Of course, for me Stevie was the highlight. She is amazing, still sounds phenomenal and I was excited that they sang all their hits. Justin loved Mick Fleetwood the drummer. He had a huge solid gold drum set that was 1/4 of the stage and had a big gong drum behind him. He wore velvet knickers and red shoes. It was a great evening! We topped it off with a trip to Whataburger to get the babies some honey butter biscuits.. yummy :)
