Houston Sights

In honor of the inauguration, I thought I would post some pics of Houston's tribute to Washington DC and American history. We have a park here called Herman Memorial Park. We visited when out exploring with our friends over the holidays. Reflecting pools and monument in tribute to the Washington Mall. A Sam Houston monument marks one end of the park area. We only stopped and visited this one area but the park has a zoo with a train that runs through it and Japenese gardens. It was a gorgeous day!

Another local haunt that we visted was the West Alabama Ice House. Being from Alabama and having our friends from Bama in town, of course we had to check it out. It was so much fun. It is your classic neighborhood bar that was more like a shack. It was fun to hang out. They had horseshoes... games.... basketball court.. picnic tables. Felt right at home :-)
