Airport MADNESS!!
We took our annual spring Riley vacation home this past week and it started with some crazy airport MADNESS!! We knew that our flight time was risky with the boys.. 8pm out of Hobby (forever far away from our house) getting into Panama City at 10pm.
We had the perfect plan though. Arrive at airport early to feed them at their dinner time - went well. We had an awesome dinner at Pappadeaux.. kicking off vacation right! Then headed to the gate around 7:30 to put on pj's, hop a plane, and then they would go right to sleep!
Ha! We arrive at the gate to find that originally the plane was delayed until 10:30.. then we found out it was delayed until 11:50!! What happened in the next 4 hours with 2 toddlers up way past bedtime was craziness.
We met the nicest couple that lives about a mile from us. They had 2 kids, the oldest began Eli's best friend. He and Eli were little mischief makers running all over the airport. Let me show you a couple of clips from their antics. Dancing on a table for the crowds!!
He also enjoyed playing with daddy. While Justin was on the phone he walked over unplugged it from the wall and began leading Justin all around by the cord :-)
I did worse than them! I made a pallet on the floor and basically begged them to lay down with me and go to sleep. I was exhausted!
Finally we boarded at 12am and by the time we were in the air they were sound asleep. Slept all the way there, woke up at 2:00am when we were getting off the plane and went back to sleep in the car. Fortunately we were able to get them in the bed without waking them up.. we had to wake Eli up at 10am the next morning for breakfast. He was a tired little boy.
