Back in the Swaddle Again

Nikki arrived last Monday with her daughter Charis. We have had such a good time and she is taking good care of my boys. Charis loves to help and is fascinated with the babies. Nikki is super mom. I am serious. The boys are back in their swaddles which has made them sleep so much better, they are on a real nap schedule, they are napping in their cribs, she has organized all of our baby feeding stuff in the kitchen, and they love her! I am so impressed with her taking care of them and Charis all while being pregnant. I even came home to a wonderful surprise on Friday, she had cleaned the whole house!

One of our biggest challenges has been Beckett's sleeping during the daytime. He is so hard to get down for a nap. He fights and fusses all day long and you can tell he needs a nap but he just cries and cries. And then by the early evening he is so over tired and fussy that he just passes out at 6pm and then wants to sleep until 2am and then is ready to go again. Nikki suggested that we go back to the swaddle and enforce the crib nap. Amazing! What a beautiful sight :-)

The boys now have their designated "wake" time and designated "sleep" time. During their wake time, Nikki turns on all the lights, music, Praise Baby, reads books, plays games, and tries to really stimulate them. Then when its "sleep time" they get swaddled and placed in their cribs in their beds with the lights off. She said it would take 3 - 5 days and by the end of last week they were on schedule. I love it! This will help the nanny keep things consistent while I am at work.

What a blessing Nikki has been too us.
She will be here for another week. Can't wait to have more fun!!
