Riley Family Christmas Celebration

This past weekend, the Riley family came to visit us in Houston. We had a blast! This year we have 3 new additions to the Riley family. Justin's sister, Lauren got married in April and her husband Preston celebrated his first Christmas with us. And of course, the little ones. It was great to have so much help with the babies. Preston and the boys just chilled, Lauren & Cindy took care of most of the feedings and Big Poppa pitched in on night time feedings. These boys had lots of Riley love!

They so kindly watched the boys so we could go to Austin for our anniversary on Saturday. On Sunday, some shopping was done and then the "kids" went out while Big Poppa and Gamma stayed home with the baby boys. We took Lauren and Preston to a couple of our favorite places in Rice Village. Mia Luna - which did not disappoint again - and The Ginger Man which has an awesome selection of brews. We had a great time together.

On Monday, we spent the day preparing for the Riley Christmas that night. We cooked an awesome prime rib and I made my special banofee pie. For Justin's mom's gift, my sweet friend Jen came and took Riley photos. It was the first time we had all been together as a family. She captured the personalities so well. The pictures were actually fun. Preston kept us cracking up the entire time. The boys did great. They wore their new overalls from Dee Dee and Aunt Lauren gave them their first pairs of shoes. Little booties with bears on the toes.

Our Christmas was amazing! The Riley's did way too much this year. Beckett and Eli racked up. They got their first fishing poles from their big Poppa and they got a Jumperoo, I know they are going to have so much fun with those pretty soon! Justin got a rope. His dad said every man needs a good rope. I don't think he meant for tying up his wife but that is what happened after he opened it :-) The big surprise for us was... A NEW TV!! We have such a small TV. The joke is in our families its the size of a postage stamp. It is a perfectly great tv. My Ma bought it for me after I graduated college but our living room is huge with high ceilings and it is so small. No one ever wants to come to our house to watch games or hangout because of our TV. Not anymore! The Riley's have entered the age of high tech TV's.

I hated to see them leave on Tuesday morning. We enjoyed having them here and I know the boys will enjoy many more Christmases with their Riley family.
