Beckett and Eli are 6 weeks!

The boys were 6 weeks this week! Amazing how alert and awake they are now. They each seem to have different cycles of awake time but they are wide eyed and so much fun during their awake time now. They love the play gym. It is hilarious watching them because on one in is a big blue whale. The both just talk and talk to the whale. Eli is a scooter. He scoots down in his bed and scoots all over you when you hold him. When you put him down on the play gym he scoots and scoots and work so hard to get to the end with the whale and then wacks it over and over while fussing at it. Not sure what the whale is doing that the boys don't like but it is funny.

Our special time each day watching or really listening to our Praise Baby DVD. It was actually the first baby gift that I received and I love it! Not only for the babies but for me too. Its 20 minutes each morning that I can praise and worship too. I ordered the Christmas version and we have been listening to it. After the morning feed, I put them in their swings in front of the TV and we watch, listen, and praise. Eli will watch it and actually talk to it but Beckett prefers to watch his eyelids :-) It is wonderful. It will be my new standard baby gift!

Eli was diagnosed with reflux. Poor thing. All this time he really was in pain and had heartburn! He was put on Prevacid and is a completely different child. He still fusses from about 10-12 on and off but in a different way. Gone are the painful cries, clenched fist, arched back and just plain our wailing. I didn't think it was reflux at first because he didn't have really bad spit up but apparently there is "silent reflux". He is a happy little man now. Sleeping great after 12 and during the day. He weighs 8 lbs and is filling out. Those cheeks are so sweet! I just kiss them and kiss them. He is a strong little guy. He has good control of his neck and loves looking around. He is getting better at tummy time and is starting to put his little legs underneath him and push. He is a strong little man.

Beckett has been doing great. He started being a little fussy during the day and we figured out he was hungry! We increased his ounces and he has been fine. He has moved to the big boy bottle. I think he is going through a little growth spurt. He is long and lean. He eats as much as Eli but I think he is going to be built like me and my brother and have that fast metabolism. He weighed 7 lbs 8 oz. He is absolutely addicted to his pacifer. I feel like its because in the NICU they had it in his mouth 24/7 and it was his comfort. I will fight that battle one day but for now it brings him peacefulness and comfort (and more sleep for mommy). He has the most expressive face. If you kiss his lips, he makes a little kiss shape with his mouth and opens his eyes so wide. His hair is starting to lighten up all over. It is so soft and getting longer in the back. I love how different and unique each baby is. They have their own personalities and own ways to love.

6 weeks also brought about a milestone for mommy. I took the boys about by myself for the first time. Justin wasn't here so I fed them, got them dressed, got them in the car, and we went to Starbucks drive thru and Hobby Lobby. We managed great! Of course we got lots of attention (its hard to ignore the baby bus being pushed all around the store). We did a little shopping and then we headed home. I didn't want to push my luck. Later that day we took them to Garden Ridge to shop for Christmas lights and they did great. It felt good to be out as a family of four. I was so exhausted I could barely walk around the store!

Even with the lack of sleep and insanity of two babies, it is so totally completely worth it. To look into their little eyes and see God's miracle and love every day. We are so grateful and full of joy this Christmas.
