Waiting on Babies ... 48 hours!
We are confirmed for delivering the babies on Thursday at 4:30. It will probably run a little later because we are the last of the day and we may get bumped and delayed but by Thursday night Beckett and Eli will be here! They are both weighing over 5 lbs. Such an answer to prayers and nice to see the results of my super calorie/protein intake over the last 9 months. I am going tomorrow to do some pre-op lab work and then I will show up Thursday at 3:30 to check in and prep for surgery. Trying not to freak out about that :-) I am concerned about the no eating all day policy. Apparently they have not been around me when I don't eat.. and these boys are hungry. I think that will be harder than than the anticipation of delivery! We have taken care of teh details. The housekeeper is lined up to come while we are gone so it will be nice and clean when we get home. The puppy dogs have a sitter coming Thursday and Friday and then Justin is taking them to the doggie hotel for Saturday. We are scared to leave them at home with the trick or treaters out in the neighborhood. We don't want them to freak out. They got a double room so they can be together and they have been to daycare there several times. They always charm them into extra bones :-) All the hotels are squared away for the family. My parents, my grandparents, and Justin's parents are set to arrive tomorrow so we can spend a little time together tomorrow night. From what I hear, no one is sleeping well at this point. The excitement is like waiting on Christmas.. ours is coming early this year.
To try and make time pass quicker for me, I convinced Justin that we should start putting together some of our baby things. He has fought me on this and wanted to put them together when we get home since we don't know how long they will be in the hospital.. but he caved (um.. after I cried :-) I worked for Babies R Us for 3 years and I know that putting together some of this stuff is not as easy as he was thinking. We installed the car seats.. I was certified years ago and so we didn't go to the fire station or anything. Our seats are awesome they have a built in little bubble leveler and also the side latch system so they weren't too hard to put in. We had one small casualty. My car was in the garage. We were looking for the latches for the tethers so I opened the back of the SUV to look in the back. Justin didn't know that I opened the back and he opened the garage door. Oops. It broke the back door of the SUV. Being a Land Rover, we both know that it will be a fortune to fix. Oh well.. Put that on the list. It will open and close but you have to be very careful. Those were an expensive car seats install!
