Getting Ready for Baby

This past week during Ma and Dave's visit (more on that in another post) we finally started buying things and getting ready for baby. I had to include this picture of Justin and Oyster. We got a bottle in a welcome kit at one of the stores we went to earlier and we broke it out to take a look at it. I don't think this is what they intended with the free sample. Raleigh wanted nothing to do with it but sweet Oyster almost drank the whole thing full of milk. Not sure if this is good practice or not :-)

We went glider shopping while Ma and Dave were here and to Babies R Us. This time it was fun! Dave practiced rocking me in all the gliders. We finally decided on a glider at Baby USA. It is sooo comfortable and the padding is amazing. We had to special order because like everything else, apparently navy is not a popular color. It is one of my favorites though! It will be in 6-8 weeks so that is exciting! We went to Babies R Us and looked around. Ma got us a few things for babies... blankets (Justin had to have the little baseball blankets.. they are precious!) a diaper pail, little odds and ends. I have done a lot of reading (of course) and pediatricians and american pediatrics are recommending no traditional bumper pads. They are adorable of course!! But you can only use them for such a short time. We have opted out of traditional bumpers and decided to go with the new "breathable bumpers". The are mesh (so the babies can breath if they roll into them) and thin so they still protect little arms and legs from getting stuck in the slats. Its amazing how when you have 2 babies on the way, practicality is seeming to win over looks and wants! Not my typical style :-)
Little by little we are getting things together. My sweet mom-in-law is doing my curtains and my parents are bringing them out next week! Can't wait to see. I know they will make a huge difference. The furniture is painted and the knew precious knobs are on. We are waiting about another month to order the beds. But I have most everything picked out for the little pumpkins!
Love, Luann and Justin
